The Captain My Wife and I Page 2

He left the room returning quickly with a warm towel to drape around the stranger’s head, before heading off to the kitchen.

Fortunately, when they’d had the kitchen refitted, they’d included a hydro tap which produced boiling, chilled and sparkling water, so no need to wait for a kettle to boil.

He busied himself gathering a few bottles that would be suitable, quickly filling them with hot water from the hydro tap.

Next, he got a few towels from the family bathroom and wrapped the bottles in the towels, ensuring there would be enough heat to help warm the stranger without burning him.

When he got back to the bedroom, he saw that Anya had cleaned the wound and put butterfly stiches over the cut to hold the edges together giving them a chance to heal.

Anya looked up ‘I would have preferred that he go to hospital, get this looked at properly, I’m sure he has concussion, but there’s no way an ambulance can get here tonight in this weather so this will have to do.’

As she was tlking to Thomas, she covered the butterfly stiches with a bandage folded into a padded square, wrapping another bandage around his head to hold it in place.

‘That’s the best I can do’ she said, ‘but we’ll need to wake him up every hour to check he’s okay.’

She turned to look at Thomas as she spoke ‘we need to get him dressed in something that’ll help warm him up, but something that won’t disturb the dressing, she bit her bottom lip trying to think what would be most suitable.

‘How about my thick fleecy dressing gown with a pair of my sweat bottoms and thick socks’ Thomas suggested.

Anya nodded ‘sounds perfect’ she said as Thomas handed her the towel wrapped bottles so that he could collect the clothing.

A few minutes later, after they’d managed to wrestle the man into the clothing, then surround him with the water bottles, Anya tucked the duvet around the man, putting another duvet over the top.

She looked at Thomas ‘I think that’s about all we can do for now’ she said, as she turned down the dimmer switch so that the light was on very low, ‘I suggest we go to bed, but set the alarm to check on him hourly what do you think?’

Thomas nodded ‘good plan’ he said, as he put him arms around Anya, ‘you did good tonight love’ he said, nuzzling the top of her head.

Anya pulled back slightly to look up at him ‘we did good babe’ she said with a smile before turning to lead him to the master suite which was situated above the huge lounge.

It shared the glass wall with the lounge below so when they woke up, they could gaze straight out over the ocean.

  CHAPTER 2

The next morning, the stranger was awake and fully aware of all that had happened the previous evening.

‘I’m nearing the end of a six month sabbatical from my job in London’ he explained, ‘first I crossed the Atlantic, then sailed around America, I sailed back across the Atlantic just a few days ago and was going to spend my last month sailing around the UK, I can’t believe I made it across the Atlantic and back safely, but was grounded by the storm back here in Blighty’ he grinned a little as he spoke but it was clear to both Anya and Thomas that he was bitterly disappointed not to have finished his trip.

‘What happened?’ Anya asked, ‘clearly if you crossed the Atlantic and back, you’re no novice.’

The man shook his head, ‘stupid rookie error’ he said, clearly a little angry at himself, ‘I spilled some water on the radio, it was stupid to be near it with the bottle, but a wave hit the boat and knocked me off balance. Once the radio was out, I didn’t hear the warnings about the approaching storm until it was almost on me, I tried to race the storm to the nearest harbour but didn’t make it and you saw the result’ he waved in the direction of the cove where waves were still swamping the stranded and disabled sailing boat.

‘Anyway’ he finished, ‘if it hadn’t been for you guys, I’d have been a goner, so big big thanks, I really appreciate you putting your lives on the line to save mine.’

Anya brushed his thanks aside, holding out her hand ‘I’m Anya’ she introduced herself, then nudged her husband.

‘Thomas’, he said holding out his hand as he introduced himself.

The man shook their hands as he introduced himself ‘Jack’ he said, then with a slightly deprecating grin he continued ‘Jack Sparrow, Captain Jack Sparrow.’

Anya put her head to one side as she assessed him to see whether he was kidding ‘like, Johnny Depp Jack Sparrow?’ she asked, slightly disbelievingly.

Jack grinned ‘yeah’ he said with a laugh, ‘well, John Sparrow really, but everyone’s always called me Jack, then when Pirates of the Caribbean came out, people started calling me Captain Jack so what could I do, I had to learn to sail, to become Captain.’

Thomas laughed ‘no choice mate’ he agreed.

Anya chuckled, ‘clearly meant to be your destiny but I think sinking your ship to reflect your destiny is taking it a little too far, don’t you think?’ she grinned as she scolded Jack.

Jack sighed, ‘My own fault I suppose’ he said with a small grin, ‘I even called her the Black Pearl, it was just asking for trouble.’

Thomas shook his head, ‘never mind, at least you made it out alive’ he said consolingly.

Over breakfast, they spent a little more time getting to know each other.

It was clear to both Anya and Thomas that Jack was itching to get out to look over his boat to see the extent of the damage, but outside the storm continued to rage.

During the day, occasionally the wind would falter slightly, giving them the illusion that the storm was passing, only to come roaring back again.

Thomas spent the day on his computer working, fortunately the storm hadn’t knocked out the internet. While he was busy, Jack and Anya played board games and card games, getting to know each other better.

The storm continued to rage into the night until sometime in the early hours of Tuesday morning it finally eased up, passing on so that Tuesday morning, they woke up to bright blue skies and sunshine, looking out at the gorgeous day, it was hard to remember how bad the storm had been, that was until Anya looked out of her kitchen window as she entered to get the coffee on and made breakfast.

Outside the garden looked like a giant had had a tantrum, branches had come down from one of the apple trees and one of the cherry trees, which prior to the storm had been heavy with white blossom was now looking somewhat bare with a branch listing heavily, clearly ready to come down on anyone foolish enough to pass beneath it.

The grass was covered by the white blossom blown from the cherry trees, there was so much, it almost looked like it had been snowing.

Some of the pots and plants had been blown over with a few of the pots lying in pieces, the geraniums looking abandoned.

To one side of the garden, several of the fence panels had been blown over, Anya could see it would take a good few hours of work to get the garden back into some sort of reasonable condition.

She turned as Thomas entered the kitchen, he moved to put his arms around her waist as he surveyed the garden over her head.

‘Looks like we’re going to be busy today love’ he said with a smile.

Anya nodded looking over her shoulder at him, smiling back, ‘it’s not too bad really’ she said, ‘it could have been a lot worse, why don’t I do us some coffee and bacon sandwiches before we go out to tackle it?’

‘Tackle what?’ Jack asked as he walked into the kitchen, his hair still damp from the shower he’d just taken.

‘The garden’ Thomas answered, looking back out of the kitchen window with a nod.

Jack wandered over ‘ouch’ he said as he looked out at what had just two days ago been a pretty, well-tended garden.

‘It’s not as bad as it looks’ Anya protested as she moved around the kitchen getting coffee and breakfast.

Thomas nodded ‘yeah’ he agreed, ‘shouldn’t take too long to sort it out, Anya and I are going to tackle it this morning, why don’t you use the phone to see what you can arrange to have your boat collected and looked at after breakfast Jack’ he suggested.

Jack smiled his thanks at Anya as she handed him his coffee ‘good idea’ he agreed with Thomas as he sat at the table watching the couple as they moved around the kitchen in a comfortable and familiar harmony.

After breakfast, Thomas and Anya went out into the garden, they agreed that Anya would start sorting out the pots and plants, ditching the debris and repotting those plants that could be saved whilst Thomas dealt with the tree branches that had come down all or part of the way.

Although Anya knew it was a shame that part of one of the apple trees had come down, she knew that Thomas would cut it up and store it so that come winter, it would burn beautifully in their wood burner giving out a lovely aromatic smell, the cherry would give out a lovely fragrant smell when burning too.

After a while, Jack came out to report that the boatyard was inundated so it was likely to be several days before they were able to come to collect his boat.

Anya and Thomas quickly reassured Jack that he was welcome to stay while he waited.

Jack quickly dispensed of the coat that Thomas had loaned him as he helped Thomas to cut up the wood, then helped Anya rake up the lawn, heaping the leaves and debris into the composter.

Having three of them working at it meant it only took a couple of hours to fix the garden back up, just leaving the fence panels to be replaced, but they would need to be ordered so it would be a bit longer before they could be sorted.

After lunch, Thomas planned to visit the other houses in the hamlet, there were six in total, including their own and with the other five being currently unoccupied, Thomas wanted to check them out, see what damage the storm had caused.

&nbsp
; Jack offered to go with him, so after thick homemade vegetable soup, made with vegetables from their garden, along with chunks of homemade bread, Thomas gathered the keys to the other houses and set off with Jack, starting with the furthest house from theirs.

There were two houses that were used as holiday rentals, two houses that were owned by families in London that were used as weekend vacation homes and one house that, like theirs, was normally occupied full time, but the owners, James and Shelly were currently sunning themselves in the Balearic Islands.

The two holiday homes hadn’t been let out this week, it was a little early in the season and due to the impending storm, the weekenders had come down Saturday to close up the houses but had travelled back up to London before the storm hit.

Thomas explained this to Jack as he went through both rental homes, making notes of a few things that needed doing, one had lost a few roof tiles, the other had lost a fence panel and a window shutter, but overall, not a huge amount.

The rental properties and the weekender cottages all had very minimalist gardens so unlike Thomas and Anya’s Garden, they hadn’t suffered any real damage other than the fence panel.

Finally, Thomas and Jack came to the house next to Thomas and Anya’s house, this was the property normally occupied by James and Shelly.

Thomas noted that like theirs, the garden had suffered somewhat in the storm, he made notes as to what had been damaged before going into the house.

After checking the property over, Thomas grabbed a watering can to water the indoor plants.

  CHAPTER 3

Jack followed him around the house, ‘you’re really lucky you know mate’ Jack commented as he watched Thomas.

Thomas looked at Jack a little distracted, ‘sorry?’ he said.

Jack grinned ‘I said you’re a luck guy mate’ he said, seeing Thomas’s slightly baffled look he continued ‘having Anya’ he clarified, ‘not only is she gorgeous and totally sexy if you don’t mind me saying so’ he said looking at Thomas.

Thomas nodded for Jack to continue ‘but she’s also one of the nicest people I think I’ve ever met, she doesn’t seem to notice how gorgeous she is, she’d not full of airs and graces like so many women who look like her and the fact that she’d go out in a storm with you to help a stranger, well, I can tell you, not many of the women I know would do something like that, they’d be too much like ‘it’ll mess up my hair’ sort of thing.

‘Anya’s great’ Thomas agreed smiling, ‘you know’ he continued, ‘if anyone had told me ten years ago when Anya and I got together, that after ten years I’d be if anything even more in love with her, I’d have laughed, like you, I worked in London and so many women that I worked with were all about themselves, but Anya is the best thing that could have happened to me and then, five years ago, moving here, getting out off the rat race, it was like the icing on the cake, seriously life couldn’t get any better.’

‘Anyway’ Jack continued, ‘I just wanted to say again, thank you, to both of you, without you, I wouldn’t be alive today, and that’s not an exaggeration, so seriously, if there’s ever anything I can do for either of you, anything at all, just say the word, I can never thank you enough.’

Thomas looked at Jack consideringly ‘do you mean it Jack?’ he asked carefully, ‘because there is something you could do for me’ he broke off thinking about what he was about to ask.

‘Anything, anything at all’ Jack jumped in, knowing there was nothing he wouldn’t do for this amazing couple who had rescued him.

Thomas hesitated, then shook his head, ‘no’ he said, ‘no, forget it, it was silly, forget it, you don’t need to do anything for us, thanks is enough for us.’

Jack frowned, ‘come on Thomas’ he said, ‘clearly there is something, honestly there’s nothing you can ask of me that I wouldn’t do.’

Thomas shook his head, ‘no, forget it, it’s foolish, come on, why don’t we go take a look at the Black Pearl now that the waves have gone down.’

Jack hesitated for a moment, he was desperate to go see what sort of shape his boat was in, but at the same time, it was clear there was something that Thomas wanted to ask him but didn’t know how to.

As Thomas headed for the door, Jack shot out his hand, grabbing Thomas’ arm ‘come on mate’ he said, ‘don’t leave me hanging, clearly there is something I can do, tell me what it is.’

Thomas hesitated then shook his head again, ‘no, it’s not right to ask you’ he said finally.

Jack could tell Thomas was weakening, ‘come on mate’ he said with a grin, ‘you can’t keep me in suspense like this, just ask me, if I can’t or don’t want to do it, I can soon tell you.’

Thomas shook his head again ‘it’s not so much about whether you won’t or can’t do it as much as you might think badly of me for suggesting it.

Jack shrugged, ‘you won’t know unless you ask me’ he said encouragingly.

Thomas sighed, ‘fine then, but if you don’t like it, don’t take it out on Anya, okay?’ he said.

Jack’s eyebrows rose wondering what on earth Thomas was going to ask him, ‘deal’ he said.

Thomas sighed again, ‘okay’ he said, ‘the thing is, when we rescued you, you were a bit out of it, we needed to get you warm and dry and you weren’t able to do it yourself, so we stripped you before getting you in the shower.’

Jack nodded, ‘I remember being in the shower with you guys’ he confirmed.

‘Anyway’ Thomas continued ‘Anya couldn’t help but notice how big your assets were.’

Jack grinned, ‘bit difficult to miss really’ he agreed a little bashfully.

‘Well, she couldn’t help but notice, and admire’ he grinned at Jack who grinned back ‘and she’s always had a thing for giant cocks, when we go on the porn hub, the first clips she looks at are ones with monstrous cocks, don’t get me wrong’ Thomas added, ‘mine’s not small, in fact I think my cock was one of the things that attracted Anya to me in the first place, indeed, I’m on the big side, but compared to you, it definitely puts me in my place so to speak, anyway, when Anya saw your cock, even though it wasn’t hard or anything, I saw the gleam in her eye and gave her permission that if she ever got a chance with you, she could go with it, I know it’s on her secret bucket list to go with a guy with a monster cock so I wouldn’t stop her if she had the opportunity.’

Thomas finished speaking, almost out of breath as he’d been speaking faster and faster as he raced to get the request out before he lost his nerve.

Jack looked at Thomas consideringly, then grinned ‘so what would you be doing while I was boffing your wife Thomas?’ he asked cheekily.

Thomas gaped at Jack, ‘what do you mean?’ he asked weakly, realizing that Jack might actually be considering his request.

‘Well,’ Jack said slowly, ‘would you be in the next room, thinking about what we were doing, or would you be in the room watching us, or would you join in?’
